Special Needs Mom-Stitchin Joyful Juggling

Juggling life and motherhood joyfully stitching with a special needs child

About Me

My name is Deanna Runyan-Wall.  I am the mother of a special needs son, Luke, and it has truly defined my life to develop me into a deeper person. Sometimes it can be tricky to juggle the needs of a special needs child, 2nd marriage, children, life and more; but I try to do it joyfully.  Luke was born in 1996 as a little brother to Nicholas born 1993.  I had another child in 2001 named Jacob after discovering that their father and I did not carry the genetic gene mutation that Luke had.  Luke has a genetic disorder called Tuberous Sclerosis that causes tumors to grow throughout his body.  These tumors cause complications and comorbid diseases like epilepsy, autism, mental impairment, developmental delay and more.  Tuberous Sclerosis is a chronic disease that lasts a lifetime.

My ex-husband left me when my youngest son was 3 months of age and I subsequently re-married the most spectacular man.  I now have three sons, three step-daughters and three lab dogs.  We stay very busy and have a lot to focus on and manage.
